It could be the snow-streaked mountains. Or the thought of warming up in those magical hot springs after a winter walk. But one thing we know is that every visitor who comes here experiences a renewed love of nature.
Our first visitors came here for copper, nickel, gold, and silver. Today, they still come for minerals. Our mineral hot springs, that is. A soak in our naturally-heated mineral pools does wonders for both body and soul. Immerse yourself in the steamy magic of the springs, as you sit back and admire the snowy mountainsides. There truly is nothing like it.
Nestled in our mountains are many picturesque towns. There’s Nelson’s Victorian character. Revelstoke’s alpine atmosphere. And the Bavarian-style village of Kimberley. All enhanced by a season which highlights their awe-inspiring beauty.
It was here, in Craigellachie on November 7, 1885, that the Last Spike was driven. It not only joined a railway from coast to coast, it brought a nation together.
Twelve major ones in all, each a protected wilderness area of incredible beauty. Perhaps the most spectacular is Yoho National Park, with its 28 snow-capped mountain peaks.
